GROW Program

The College continues to deliver a contemporary Wellbeing Program that supports the social and emotional needs of our students. Recently, our Year 11’s participated in a workshop facilitated by ElephantEd on the topic of pornography versus reality. With much discourse taking place in the wider community regarding this issue, the need to provide young men with opportunities to learn and share their insights in a safe space is critical to enhancing their overall knowledge and safety. The feedback from the students who participated in the session was overwhelmingly positive. Further conversations will take place with mentors in the coming weeks during GROW periods.

The Year 12’s participated in their third seminar session for the year focusing on the topic of Consent. Facilitated by David Kobler from the Choicez organisation https://www.choicez.com.au/, students were invited to reflect and unpack this issue throughout the session. The seminar explored multiple key issues in the lives of young men through the dominant paradigm of how masculine strength is used. The session communicated a powerful new message; that masculine strength can be placed at the service of something bigger than the individual.

The Future Pathways Program

The Future Pathways Program commenced for all Year 10’s recently as they completed their Morrisby Report testing online. The Morrisby Report is a high quality platform that will enable students to identify their strengths whilst providing career matching guidance. This report will be integral in assisting students when selecting their VCE subjects during Term 3.
